1. What is the New Space of the 3D Embossed Varnish Printing?
Traditional printing only prints on the surface of the substrate.
In contrast, 3D Embossed Varnish Printing adds a third dimension by intricately layering the ink to create depth in the design.
To construct that depth, we engineer the application by first printing layers of White Ink to create the height, layering the CMYK process color separation,
and finishing with a thick coat of varnish—this provides a highly textured surface that can be felt when touching the final product.
The Jucolor 9060 can take digital designs from 2D to 3D
and create releif effects that replicate the textures of natural objects—such as the 3D texture found in an oil painting,
the delicate network of veiny details on a leaf, and even the appropriate Braille mounted print used on ADA compliant signage.

Jucolor has developed an ink setup comprised of 10 ink colours including CMYK, Lc, Lm, Grey, White, and Varnish.
Grey and light inks allow for “Photo Realistic” gradients and smoother transitions when creating 3D textures,
thus eliminating the common “grainy” image typically found in embossed prints.

The surfaces of materials like wood, leather and mechanical components are not always flat or level.
Jucolor’s High-Drop technology is capable of accurately firing ink at a distance of 10mm up to 15mm.
This means that your 3D varnish effects are constantly going to be crisp and clearly defined, even if printing on a curved or recessed surface;
whereas uses of other printers might produce blurred effects.
C. 2.5D & 3D with Tactile Abilities
Synchronization of our software and print heads allows for stacking ink with precision.
By doing so, you can produce 2.5D textures with micron precision, such as with leather textures,
or you could create thick patterns that are 3D in appearance, such as engraved Braille.
